Robert E. Collar, 83, passed away at Woodstock Care Center in Kenosha on Saturday evening, Nov. 14, 2009.

He was born in New London, Wis. on Aug. 15, 1926, the son of the late Milton and Helen (nee: Edminster) Collar. He was a resident of the Racine-Kenosha Area for over 50 years.
Mr. Collar served his country with the U.S. Navy during WWII as a gunners mate 3rd class. He had been employed, as an agent, by John Hancock Insurance Company and the Modern Woodmen Insurance Company. Mr. Collar had also been a bartender at the Elmwood Bar and Restaurant, The Hob Nob, and Krock's. He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. Mr. Collar was a member of the American Legion Post 552, in Somers, former member of the American Legion Post 21, in Kenosha, 40 and 8 Club, and the Last Man's Club.
Surviving are his children, David (Chris) Collar, of Somers, Sharon (Dan) Feest, of Kenosha, Pamela Olson, of Pleasant Prairie, and Susan Oennening, of Johnson City, Tenn.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, brother, Milton (Shirley) Collar, of Appleton, Wis., and special friend, Martha Call of Racine. Mr. Collar is further survived by other relatives and friends.
His Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, in the funeral home. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Private burial, with full military honors, will be held in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery.
