Everyone’s busy — rake your leaves

To “Name Withheld” who is too busy to rake leaves but not too busy to write a letter to Voice of the People, do you really think people who rake their leaves are not also busy and work? I’m glad not everyone has your attitude or the city of Kenosha would be buried in leaves.

Have you ever given thought to the children walking to school, people walking their dogs, people just out for a walk and the mailperson trekking through the leaves on your sidewalk? There could be hidden dangers under them that would make a person fall and become injured. Leaves can also be very slippery.

I’d say not raking your leaves is a cop-out and you’re just plain lazy, too obese to bend over or too cheap to buy the bio-bags. Responsible homeowners take pride in their property and maintain, not neglect it. I suppose you’re also too busy to clean house, do laundry, wash windows, shake a rug, cook or do anything else that requires any kind of physical strength. Your house is probably the one with Christmas lights still dangling from the roof from last year. I sure am glad you’re not my neighbor.
