7QUESTIONS+PLUS

Dale Wamboldt, whose Dr. Destruction persona has become somewhat of a Kenosha icon. He’s also made a bid for Kenosha mayor, and he tells us that residents shouldn’t count him out just yet. Keep an eye out for him cavorting around the city in his hearse, or on local cable access appearing in his “Crimson Theatre” program ...

Dale Wamboldt will now take your questions ...

This is ‘7 Questions’ where each week we ask you to submit questions for a person of interest in Kenosha County. Then, we interview the person and publish their answers.

E-mail questions or ideas for people we should interview to connections@kenoshanews.com

"7 Question For" home

Where did your fascination with Halloween, death or the nether life start? Halloween is just a fun holiday. I have no fascination with death. Monster movies are a positivee creative outlet. If your religion is threatened by a jack-o-lantern it’s your own lack of faith.

How much time do you spend in your Dr. Destruction persona and how much time do you spend as Dale Wamboldt? I spend a few hours a week in makeup, but I’m always me.

How long does it take for Dr. Destruction to “get ready” ? My makeup is really basic, just an exageration of my already creepy features.

Speaking of men wearing make up, which rock group did it best and why? The New York Dolls because they were small guys and they could wear their girlfriend’s outfits. They were mocking the glam bands and being funny about it. I belive them to be the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band ever. The Rolling Stones wish they were half as cool as the Dolls.

How did you discover your interest in art? By drawing monsters as a kid.

What are you secretly terrified by? Sara Jessica Parker and Rosie O’Donnell

Who inspires you? John Antaramian

Do you think your alter ego of Dr. Destruction hurt or helped your mayoral bid, and if you were elected, how would you govern? I will be elected. It’s time to take care of Joe Kenosha first!

When are you going to run for president of the United States? Never

Global warming. Something to worry about or just a scare tactic from some wacky, leftover hippies? It’s all that hot air from AM radio talk show hosts. I think global warming is for real.

If you could live during any other time period, what would it be? 1973, a great year for bands like the New York Dolls.
