Still time to enter our U Pick ’Em Contest for today’s race
The deadline to enter picks for the 3M Performance 400 for the Kenosha News’ NASCAR “U Pick ‘Em Checkered Flag” contest is 12:45 p.m. today.
According to the rules, the weekly contest can be entered up until 15 minutes before TV coverage begins.
To enter the season-long contest, visit kenoshanews. com and click on the “U Pick ’Em Checkered Flag” banner and start playing.
The national contest — which features a trip to the Richard Petty Driving Experience as the grand prize — takes into account a players’ top 15 races. The weekly national prize is a NASCAR MVP Series Watch and a NASCAR Fathead. For rules, click on the rules section of the contest on our Web site.
Prizes are awarded to the top local finisher each week regardless of their finish in the national contest.
Bryant wins
Bill Bryant was the local winner for his picks in the Aug. 2 Centurion Boats at the Glen.
The Kenoshan’s first victory of the year also allowed him to take over the lead in the local overall contest.
There was no Sprint Cup race last week.
For his win, Bryant’s received a $25 Timeout Sports Bar and Grill gift certificate and his subscription to the Kenosha News was extended.
Bryant scored 862 points in securing his first victory of the season. Buoyed by three exact picks in the top 10, Bryant won by 10 points over Kenosha’s Tom Cruthers. Camp Lake Dennis Faber’s was third with 843 points and Pleasant Prairie’s Gerald Tobalsky was fourth with 829 points.
Brenda Williams of Coatsburg, Ill., was the national winner with 960 points.
Bryant is first in the overall local contest with 11,821 points. Dave Cigallo of Kenosha is second with 11,817 points while Paddock Lake’s Anthony Sippy is third with 11,795 points.
The overall national leader has 12,329 points. Bryant is 463 out of 51,261 entrants in the overall standings.
