What is the coolest/strangest thing about your family? All of the boys in the family have birthdays within four days of each other (Matt July 4, 2003, Dad July 5, 1965, and Joe July 8, 2001). Do you have any pets? An 18-month-old female chocolate lab named Jed and a 6-yearold female black and white cat named Lulu Do you sing in the shower? Yes ... depends on what’s in my head at the time: big band, Grateful Dead, etc. What is your favorite song? Too many to mention — from Pat Metheny to Billie Holiday to the Grateful Dead, old-time bluegrass to old drum corps shows, Alison Krause to Bela Fleck, anything from 1973 coming from California. What is your favorite read? C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, and if I had more time I’d read more history.
How often do you read the newspaper? Every morning.
What are your favorite television shows? “The Office,” old cartoons with my kids and public television, as well as the History, Discovery and Travel channels. What is your favorite movie? “National Treasure,” “What About Bob,” “Kelley’s Heroes” and the “Band of Brothers” series What are you most likely to be after when you raid the fridge after midnight? Chocolate or cereal (or both) If you were sent to the moon with nothing but a book and a booklight, what book would you choose? “How to get back to Earth from the moon with nothing but this book and a booklight” (not yet written) If you were on a reality television show, which would you want it to be and why? Any one of those that force you to lose weight. I have terrible willpower, so I could use someone to keep reminding me to keep going. What hobbies do you have? Family, anything with my kids, music If you could be any superhero, what powers would you have? Time travel or time stopping Are you religious? Internally yes very - externally no because of busy lifestyle and schedule (terrible excuse...) What is your favorite place to go in Kenosha County? Lake Michigan shoreline What is one thing most people don’t know about you? I’ve played the trumpet since I was 7, and I really miss playing in a group like back in school. What is the best advice you’ve received? Always be early for work, only call in sick if you absolutely have to, and do everything you can to make your boss look good. Give the credit and take the blame, and life’s never too hard to smile at a stranger and say hello. Many times when they return the favor it changes your day around! Do you believe in ghosts? Absolutely - too many experiences not to! Which summer festival was your favorite? Why? Summerfest - best music, beer and food What was your favorite grade in school and why? Any grade where I would graduate. It is nice to get done and see the rewards of hard work.
