Waukegan Tire is proud to celebrate the one-year anniversary opening of its Kenosha, Wisconsin, location — a major milestone that reflects the company’s continued commitment to top-tier state-of-the-art service, community engagement and vehicle safety. This celebration is made even more special as it coincides with the 90th birthday of Waukegan Tire’s respected founder, Jerry Nerheim.
Waukegan Tire opened its fourth location in Kenosha in 2024, expanding its trusted service from Illinois into southeastern Wisconsin. The location quickly earned a loyal customer base for its knowledgeable staff, expert automotive service, custom wheels and wide selection of premium brand name tires including Michelin, BFGoodrich, Hankook, Continental, General, Goodyear, Bridgestone, Firestone, Pirelli, Nokian, Delinte and Vogue Tyre.
“Our Kenosha store has been a fantastic addition to the Waukegan Tire family,” said Steve Nerheim, Waukegan Tire vice president and son of founder Jerry Nerheim. “We’re thrilled with the support from the community and are honored to serve Kenosha’s families and businesses with the same excellence and integrity that has defined our company for over five decades.”

Founded in 1968, Waukegan Tire has built a reputation as a trusted source for tires, custom wheels and vehicle service, earning multiple national industry awards for customer satisfaction and safety advocacy. The company’s success is rooted in the vision and leadership of founder Jerry Nerheim, who continues to work every day and will celebrate his 90th birthday this month. Jerry’s legacy continues to inspire a culture of service, innovation and community involvement across all four locations in Waukegan, Park City, Grayslake and now Kenosha.
To mark this unique expansion, as well as honoring Jerry for his commitment to the tire industry and loyal customers from across the region, Waukegan Tire will host a celebration event at their flagship Park City location at 3444 W. Washington St. on Wednesday, May 21, between noon and 2 p.m. This tribute will feature special promotions, refreshments, giveaways and live remote broadcasting by radio personality Drew Walker of Free Country Chicago, 102.3 FM.
“We invite the community to celebrate with us,” said Steve Nerheim. “This is not only an opportunity to promote the success of our Kenosha location, but also to recognize my father, who built Waukegan Tire on the core principles of honesty, hard work and a passion for serving people while showing our appreciation to all the customers who have placed trust in our ability to serve their families for over half a century.”
