Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman released the following statement today, regarding the ongoing response to last night’s severe weather:
“Thank you to everyone on our Kenosha County team – including the Highway, Parks, Facilities and Golf crews – and to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, municipal governments, fire departments, utility crews, and first-responders who have been involved with the response to last night’s storm and the many power outages that followed.”
“A special thanks goes to the Division of Emergency Management for quickly activating the 211 property damage portal, and to both Niagara Bottling and the Journey Church Disaster Response Team for coordinating an essential delivery of 10 pallets of water each to the towns of Paris and Somers.”
“As of this afternoon, there are still some Kenosha County residents who are waiting to have their power restored. WE Energies reports more than 60 utility poles were downed. As crews continue to work on these repairs, I ask that people please use caution when driving near these worksites, and not to drive around barricades — these are active work zones.”
“Again, my thanks go to the crews who have put many hours into this storm response, and to the residents who have shown great patience during this difficult time for many.”
